DRIVER BONUSES Since 2006, MTS has been awarding a $25 bonus to all drivers who have a clean inspection. We have paid out thousands to drivers. Well…it’s about time for a change. So going forward, all inspections with “No Violations Found” dated January 1, 2013 and after will be paid a $75 bonus! This is cash-in-your-hands evidence that the owners and top management of MTS recognize the importance of our company’s safety reputation on the road. Do a good pre-trip and post-trip inspection. Obey the traffic laws at all times. Pile up those $75 bonuses! ​ ​ $75 CLEAN INSPECTIONS BONUS With the advent of CSA-2010, the importance of generating roadside/scale inspections with “No Violations Found” is more valuable than ever. Both MTS and the driver involved will see negative CSA-2010 points from an inspection with violations. Or (much better), both MTS and the driver will benefit from a zero violations inspection on their respective 2010 records. Besides being a point of pride, a clean inspection reduces the impact of previous inspections with violations on MTS’ CSA-2010 record. It will do the same on the driver’s personal 2010 profile. ​ ​ MTS MONTHLY PERFORMANCE BONUS PROGRAM In order for MTS to remain viable in our sector of the industry, we need to control our fuel usage. That mostly boils down to how our professional drivers operate the equipment. It is so vitally important to improve on how we consume fuel that MTS is willing to pay every company driver a monthly bonus for doing nothing more than driving smart and safe so we reduce our fuel consumption. ​ You are eligible to receive an additional 2 cents per mile! This will be paid monthly if you meet the criteria! Part of your bonus will now be tied to CSA points, and also over-revving of the engine. Regarding the CSA criteria, GM, Ford and Chrysler can determine how much business MTS gets, based on our CSA scores. Drivers who add points to MTS’ score, directly affects how much business we can get, and in turn, how much money the company can make. Our insurance carrier also closely monitors our CSA scores, and that can eventually affect our rates. A majority of the CSA scores are driver-controlled, either through on-road performance, or from proper equipment pre-trip and post-trip inspections. ​ ​ As for over-revving the engine, this costs the company in needless fuel consumption and places additional wear on the engine. It also makes it harder to shift gears when you over-rev. ​ Criteria for the monthly Driver Performance Bonus: ​ Average MPG of 6.5 or greater Long idle time below 40% Over-RPM (1800 is the threshold) must be less than 2% No negative CSA points for that month Zero safety incidents for the month - (includes, but not limited to preventable accidents, tire damages, speed gauge violations, elog violations, tickets, tractor/trailer damage etc...) Zero Late Loads No disciplinary issues for the month excluding verbal warnings Failure to properly report customer caused trailer damage ​ Management at MTS enjoys sharing savings created by good, professional drivers with those drivers. TEAM DRIVERS Martin Transportation Systems is an ISO registered contract carrier serving the auto industry providing dedicated truckload services. Martin Transportation Systems is based in Grand Rapids, Michigan with terminal locations in Michigan, Indiana, Iowa, Ohio, Kentucky, Texas, Missouri and Tennessee. Auto parts is a "no touch," time sensitive freight ("JIT" - just-in-time), thus Martin Transportation Systems seeks only those drivers who understand and enjoy working with and know the importance of timely pick up and freight delivery. The equipment operated is primarily Freightliner Conventional tractors (9 and 10 speed transmissions) and 48' - 53' trailers. Martin Transportation Systems drivers must possess a valid CDL-A license with good past work and driving records. TEAM PAY: 40 cents per mile split (when running less than 3000 miles per week) 50 cents per mile split (when running between 3000 - 4500 miles per week) 60 cents per mile split (when running between 4501 - 5000 miles per week) 65 cents per mile split (when running 5000+ miles per week) BENEFITS: New employees become eligible for Health, Dental, and Vision insurance on the 1st day of the month after completing 60 calendar days of employment. FUEL economy bonus tips A couple of quick, smart ways to lock in your bonus MPH and monthly green bonus payout on a regular basis: ​ Shift your truck at 1,350 RPMs. Taking the engine to the governor for every gear wastes fuel and gains you nothing in road speed. Shut your truck off every chance you get. Conventional wisdom says you save about a gallon per hour for every hour you don’t idle. That converts to fuel mileage towards your bonus payout and your bonus speed. Switching the key to the “OFF” position is by far the easiest way to pump up your fuel mileage. Keep your truck at the speed limit in slower states so you have your “bonus” mph available when you hit states with higher speed limits. As an example, running 5 mph over in states with 60 mph speed limits makes you a target for the DOT and the cops, which nets you tickets and points on your CSA. Instead, run 59 or 60 in a 60 mph state, then you’ll have your ECM bonus MPH available when you hit that 65 or 70 mph state. Take your break at IdleAir locations every chance you get. MTS pays for IdleAir (used to be called IdleAire). Buy a window adaptor for your unit, and turn in the receipt for reimbursement. operations About: Headliner Martin Transportation Systems, Inc. maintains central dispatch functions at our headquarters, located in Byron Center, MI which is located just south of Grand Rapids, MI. Our fleet is a mix of company equipment and owner-operators. Our satellite terminal locations support our central dispatch operations. The typical terminal includes a Terminal Manager/Terminal Representative who is primarily responsible for overall operation of the site, which includes driver related activities, paperwork processing and coordination with maintenance. Most locations also include an on-site maintenance shop which performs routine tractor and trailer repairs. MTS has intrastate, interstate, Ontario, and Quebec authority. We also provide door-to-door service to and from Mexico with preferred Mexican vendors. MTS participates and is certified in the following programs: FAST, C-TPAT, CSA/PIP. Our primarily services are the Midwest, Northeast, and Southeast with coverage throughout the United States.
