Compliance Coordinator

We are seeking a highly qualified Compliance Coordinator (2 Shifts Available) located in Byron Center. The individual selected will be responsible for the management and monitoring our company driver compliance activities , which includes monitoring driver elogs, helping drivers manager Hours of Service logging issues, and providing training for new/current drivers on hours of service and electronic logs. Assist in the management and tracking of driver performance bonus statics. Candidates need possess excellent communications and computer skills (prefer satellite tracking & TMW dispatch software), be multi-task oriented, and enjoy a fast paced work environment. Compliance Coordinator Essential Functions:

  • Audit driver’s electronic logs for compliance to HOS regulations and company policy.
  • Maintain electronic documentation of audit findings.
  • Assist drivers and dispatchers with Hours of Service and eLog issues.
  • Provide information and research as needed for driver discipline on Hours of Service.
  • Perform audits and/or monitoring of areas other than electronic logs as directed by management, including Speed Gauge, DVIR compliance, and roadside inspections.
  • Perform research as directed.
  • Communicate, collaborate and act as a team player within the Compliance Department and other partners within the company to ensure that Compliance Work Plan is implemented.
  • Actively participate in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate.

 

Job requirements

(2 Shifts Available)

  • 3rd Shift – Monday through Friday OR Day/Afternoon Swing Shift
  • Rotating weekend on call
  • Must have ADVANCED MS Excel skills, and be able to learn/utilize other data gathering/sorting/reporting tools
  • Must be analytical
  • Must be good with geography and have the ability to understand transportation routing
  • Preference given for experience in trucking environment as driver, dispatcher, route planner, maintenance manager or transportation safety/loss control.
  • Candidates must possess excellent communications and computer skills be multitask oriented.
  • Familiarity with US and Canadian HOS Regulations
  • Current or retired law enforcement encouraged to apply
  • College degree a plus

 Director of Driver Recruiting

Overview:

MTS seeks a highly qualified Director of Driver Recruiting to manage and lead employment functions at our corporate headquarters located in Byron Center, MI. Candidate will focus on driver acquisition and provide leadership to recruitment team while collaborating with senior management in obtaining recruitment goals efficiently and cost effectively.  He/she will develop and implement processes and procedures for hiring strategies.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop, direct and oversee MTS’ corporate talent acquisition program with a focus on driver recruitment/driver retention.
  • Develop and execute effective driver recruiting strategies for delivering top-quality talent and meeting hiring plans in a timely and consistent fashion.
  • Lead and develop a passionate recruiting team and manage resources.
  • Establish innovative driver candidate sourcing strategies, especially for hard-to-fill positions.
  • Define, track and analyze talent acquisition metrics and develop practical tracking and reporting methods to monitor and improve performance.
  • Collaborate with marketing manager to create unique and targeted advertising.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, organizational development or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of transportation industry/driver recruiting strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years human resources experience with at least 5+ years in HR management.
  • Extensive experience in staffing function creation and strong process excellence.
  • Ability to develop creative solutions and drive effective organizational change.
  • Experience with large, company-wide program implementation.
  • Experience developing and managing employer branding programs.
  • Working knowledge of applicant tracking systems, social media and recruiting process workflows.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Understanding of all advertising mediums.
